My Adults
I currently have a small family of six adult rabbits. They all are vaccinated annually and have regular teeth and claw checks. They range between the ages of 6 months to 2 years.
THE MINI-LOP
The Mini-Lop is the smallest and most placid breed of lop rabbit. The adult mini-lop weighs in at approximately 1.6kg and grows to about 30cm in length (therefore, they would need accommodation that is at least 3.5 ft in length). Mini-lops come in various colours. They are very laid back rabbits, have excellent temperaments and do make wonderful house rabbits and companions. They love attention and love to be cuddled and handled. They are also very easy to house train. They have short dense fur which is very soft/fluffy, but is easy to maintain with grooming. Although the ears of a lop rabbit are drooped to the side of the head, this in no way impairs their hearing compared to breeds with their ears 'sticking up'. The length of their ears is dependant upon the time of year they were born. Lop rabbits are in fact born with their ears upright and they gradually droop as the develop to adulthood.

THE LION-HEAD
Lionheads are, contrary to belief, small rabbits, equivalent and sometimes even smaller than the size of a mini lop. The average adult weight is around 1.5kg and length is about 22cm, which is less than the mini lop, so they too are an ideal sized rabbit for a child. Overall their fur is short to medium, so quite easy to maintain and look after - although it is a little thicker than the coat of a lop rabbit. The mane around the face (which can be single or double) is longer obviously, hence the name Lionhead, but again, it is very easy to maintain and does not require daily grooming, although an occasional comb through once a week/fortnight with a metal comb will keep any stray shavings or hay from causing tangles or knots. The rabbit will love this also, grooming is a good way to bond with your rabbit, even with short haired rabbits such as lops. Lionheads have lovely temperaments also - I find that have great personalities and are ideal 'lapdog' companions. Lionhead's ears stand up rather than lop and grow to about 7cm in length.
